The photographic exhibition "Grazie dei Fiori" by Andrea Pertoldeo, a unified project that brings together the recent work of the Friulian artist, a photography professor at Iuav University, will open today at 6:30 pm at the L'ERA gallery association, on Fondamenta dell'Arzere (Dorsoduro 2324).
Fruit of domestic cultivation or spontaneous growth in places on the outskirts of homes, the vegetation that Pertoldeo highlights the satisfying and compensatory nature of the nature that surrounds us.
The exhibition is divided into two sections, the first one underlines the author's working method, a process of "focusing" on the vegetal reality, through short sequences of shots that depict a local nature, close in knowledge and
attendance.
The second section focuses instead on an "exotic" episode and presents the fortuitous encounter with a Mediterranean landscape as a metaphor for all the other distant landscapes in the world.
- I started by photographing nature and trying to use different interpretative registers - he explains
Andrea Pertoldeo - I took photographs without asking myself too many questions about what appeared on the camera plate.
I tried to work on the single shot, with a vague plan in mind: I would photograph flowers .
